Sansa doesn't look all that happy to see Jon though does she?

After fans were told about the extended delay in the release of Game of Thrones final season, HBO teased them with a little surprise.

The executive producers of Game of Thrones Season 8 are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield; co-executive producers are Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis, George R.R. Martin and Bryan Cogman; and producers are Chris Newman, Greg Spence and Lisa McAtackney.

Coming back to Game of Thrones, most of the footage used in this compilation was from the penultimate season. Reportedly, the return has been "delayed" from the first half to mid-2019.

Devastatingly, fans of the show have been without a new episode for nearly a whole year. A look at the Starks, Lannisters and Night King were part of HBO's 2019 preview on Sunday night as the subscription TV network gave a brief preview of its 2019 lineup with a 90-second YouTube video on Sunday.

Although we only get a brief glimpse at Game of Thrones' final season, it is hard to believe that after almost a decade on the air, we are finally seeing how the epic series concludes.

It's noted that the Emmy's have made exceptions for "hanging episodes" which air after the time frame which can still be considered for an award. But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot.

Doing the maths and focusing on the 2020 Emmys, that would indicate that Game of Thrones wouldn't make the deadline to compete for the 2019 awards, which kicks in on 31 May.

Bauer said he's blocked off his schedule until next May for Game Of Thrones effects work.

Lead characters Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and her half-brother Jon Snow (Kit Harington) appear in one scene, while Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) appears to dodge an axe swung by Gendry (Joe Dempsie) in another. According to Entertainment Weekly, this isn't the same hug from their Castle Black reunion.
