Google's Inbox app days are numbered

Google also offers alternatives to features of Inbox which have not been added to the Gmail yet.

Inbox was a testing ground of sorts for new Gmail features.

Four years after launching Inbox in 2014, we've learned a lot about how to make email better-and we've taken popular Inbox experiences and added them into Gmail to help more than a billion people get more done with their emails everyday. Inbox won't be shuttered immediately, with a transitional period until March 2019.

Inbox, Google's innovative app for email, has received its death sentence. After that, you're free to delete the Gmail Offline Chrome app and then continue forward using only Gmail for web.

One Inbox by Gmail feature that still hasn't made its way over to the standard Gmail service is the email bundling. For pinning emails, Google suggests to either use stars or custom labels, and use the search tool to find starred or labeled messages. Recently, Google updated its Gmail app with some new features. At the time when it launched Gmail lacked numerous features it has today.

Google informed The Verge that none of the Inbox team had been let go which is good news for the future of Gmail. Having about six months of warning will give Inbox fans a chance to get their personal workflow going in Gmail, but it'll probably never be the same. Maybe Inbox was doomed from the start, but erase the frustration of Inbox users on this sad day.
