Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles to the north of the center.

The NHC said in an 5 p.m. advisory Leslie remained a subtropical storm but was expected to be a short-lived cyclone as it was moving west at 3 mph at 40 mph 1145 miles west-southwest of the Azores. Northern Venezuela is also in the extended cone projection. Eleven already has lost some traction since the 5 a.m. advisory as its winds dropped from 35 to 30 miles per hour and its forward momentum slowed by 2 miles per hour. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 6 miles per hour (9 km/h).

"It could approach the coast as far south as Georgia, or as far north as Virginia, and if we're really lucky it will stay away from the coast altogether", said Moss. While Kirk will move over warmer water that typically makes tropical systems stronger, because it's moving so quickly, it won't get as much energy and strength from that warm water compared to if it were moving slower.

Tropical Depression 11 bit the dust late Sunday morning after running into high wind shear.

This system could become a sub-tropical or tropical system early next week. "Additional weakening is expected over the next day or so", said the agency, adding that there are no warnings or watches associated with the storm. Then an nearly due west path is forecast through the rest of the weekend and through early next week.
