The Lakers' Rondo insisted after the game that he didn't spit at Houston veteran Paul, however, hours after the clips emerged, it was revealed Rondo and Paul had been suspended for three and two games respectively.

Anthony Kiedis and Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers attend a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets at Staples Center on October 20, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Paul is president of the NBA Players' Association.

By Saturday afternoon, the punishments would be handed out for all three. "You watch the film, you watch the spit".

"Nah. All I cared about what trying to get the thing over with, so we could get back to the game", James said. "That doesn't seem to be right". Rondo and Ingram will begin their suspensions tonight as the Lakers host the San Antonio Spurs.

Eric Gordon, who started in place of Paul against the Clippers, defended his teammate, saying, "If somebody is attacking you, you got to somewhat protect yourself". Paul thrust his finger into Rondo's face and neck, which Rondo responded to by punching Paul in the face.

"What is he supposed to do?"

Paul wil be out for "poking at and making contact with the face of Rondo, and throwing multiple punches at him".

A technical foul was immediately issued to Ingram, which is when Paul wandered over in Rondo's direction.

The Lakers fell 124-115 to the visiting Houston Rockets to spoil James' debut at Staples Center after dropping their season opener to the Trail Blazers in Portland on Thursday. Not in sports, in the streets, that's blatant disrespect.

The fight could leave with both teams without key rotation players due to suspension. Ingram got just four games for his initial instigation and giant, loping punch toward Paul.

A frustrated Ingram then pushed Harden from behind and the two argued back and forth.

He is just the latest to come through that revolving door on the dressing room as the longest tenured player is 21-year-old Ingram.
