Dodgers advance to second straight World Series

Left-handed Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw entered in the ninth and retired the last three Milwaukee batters to send Los Angeles back to the World Series. Los Angeles is going for its first championship since 1988 after it lost to the Houston Astros in seven games in the Fall Classic previous year.

Yelich just cleared the right-field fence above Puig's glove in the first inning for a solo homer that gave the Brewers their first run.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder crotch-chopped like a mad man as he went around the bases following his big homer off Brewers reliever Jeremy Jeffress.

Los Angeles' sixth-inning rally came on the heels of Dodgers left fielder Chris Taylor's dazzling defensive play to end a prime Milwaukee scoring chance in the fifth.

The Dodgers will now make the 20th World Series appearance in franchise history - tied with the Giants for second most in the majors - and will look to become the first NL team since the 1944 Cardinals to win it all one year after losing in the final round. The Dodgers return for a second straight year, creating a rematch of the 1916 Fall Classic, won in five games by Boston, who was led by a 21-year-old pitcher named Babe Ruth.

"There's no better feeling", Machado said of going to his first World Series.

United's next game is a Champions League match against Juventus at Old Trafford and Young is optimistic about coming away with three points.

"I knew it was in the gap", Taylor said. Past year it hurt, too. Before being removed for pinch-hitter Curtis Granderson in the bottom of the 7th, Kratz was a rock behind the plate and even delivered an RBI single to RF in the first inning that extended Milwaukee's and set the Dodgers back big. "So, I just felt that we needed to get some more innings out of Hyun-Jin to keep our highest leverage guys available for a potential Game 7".

Jhoulys Chacin was removed after pitching only two innings for the Brewers in which he allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk. "And credit to them for how they pitched tonight". Home runs with celebrations in the sixth inning are simply what he can do, because he is so immensely talented.

The Dodgers waited for lights-out lefty Josh Hader to leave the game to get their bats going again.

The loss ended a remarkable year for the Brewers. They didn't coast into the playoffs - in fact, just a few months into the season, some had already written off the struggling Dodgers.

Erik Kratz contributed to the Brewers' victory like he has all of October.
